Sunday Session
The Sunday Session is a space for faith exploration, spiritual growth and relationship building.
The Sunday Session began after two successful online Alpha courses during the COVID pandemic.
A number of people that attended the course wanted to continue exploring life with Jesus but didn’t have anywhere that they felt comfortable with to continue the journey. So we started to gather, keeping the format similar to Alpha; we met up and chatted, watched a short video (bible study) and then discussed it afterwards.
This met the needs of the few that gathered, initially, outside on the decking at the CCH. At the same time, Bev and Mark Greaves had connected with Lifecentral Church, Halesowen and reached out to their Lead Pastor, Leon Evans about exploring a partnership together. In September 2021 we launched the Sunday Session, linked to Lifecentral as a microsite.
Coffee, Cakes and Climbing
2:30pm-3:45pm
An opportunity to relax, meet new people, try new things and grow together.
Live Online Service
4pm-5:30pm
Streamed from Lifecentral Church, Halesowen followed by optional discussion and prayer.
The relationship that we have with Lifecentral Church is fantastic. We encourage those that gather on Sundays to join the LC Midweek in Halesowen, where the different (church) sites join together to worship God and have some more teaching. We love the partnership between the Cleobury Community Hub and Lifecentral Church and the relationships that have grown because of it. If you would like to see a bit more for yourself, have a look at their website: lifecentralchurch.org.uk or pop along this Sunday afternoon to the Hub and experience it!
Kids and youth
We have kids and youth provision and even welcome dogs and their well behaved owners! Last Sunday of the month is “Good Food, Good News” 6-8pm for Youth (11-16s): Stay after the Sunday Session to cook food together and have a time of bible study with peers.
Alpha
We have more questions about life right now than ever before… why not try Alpha? A place to ask questions about faith & life

01 Connection
Life is better together. Alpha brings together people from all walks of life who are curious about faith. Each session starts with some time to eat, relax and get to know your group.
02 Content
Each session covers a different topic of faith, either in a short talk or video. The Alpha episodes are designed to engage and inspire conversation. They’re about thirty minutes long and explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus?, How can we have faith? and How does God guide us?
03 Conversation
The last part of an Alpha is a chance to share your thoughts on the session’s topic and discuss it in your small groups. It’s an open and welcoming environment, no matter what your opinion. There’s no pressure to say anything, but the floor is yours if you do want to.
Got questions?
Alpha is for everyone, no matter your background or beliefs. Whether you’re new to exploring faith or simply open-minded about it all, Alpha is for you. We all bring different thoughts to the table, and at Alpha we want to create a space that’s open for everyone to find what faith means for them.
Every Alpha is different, but generally they have three things in common: food, a talk and conversation.
Food – Most sessions start with food, because it’s a great way to connect and get to know everyone there.
Talk – The talks explore the basics of the Christian faith and are designed to inspire conversation. Usually around thirty minutes long, they can be given as a live talk or played as an episode.
Conversation – There is a discussion after the talk where you can share your thoughts and ideas on the session’s topic. You can say anything you like, or nothing at all. It’s your Alpha, on your terms.
Alpha is a space to explore different parts of the Christian faith in a relaxed and friendly environment. Each session covers a different topic, like prayer, the bible, who Jesus is and loads more.
Then there’s plenty of time to chat about what you think. Each group has a leader to help guide the conversation. There’s never pressure to share your thoughts, but the floor is yours if you do want to say something.
It’s free! And there’s no follow up and never any pressure to come back.
